The Laboratory at Caffaro
In our laboratory we posses:
- Measuring arm
The 7-axis measuring arm is the portable equivalent of CMM machines. Using a contact probe and a laser scanner, the measuring arm enables coordinate measurements and inspection of the measured elements. The laser scanner allows you to create a digital representation of the measured element in order to compare it with the 3D solid designed by the constructor.
- Endurance machine
A testing machine is a device used to test the compressive and tensile strength of materials. A material sample is subjected to stresses leading to its deformation or rupture. The values of the compressive and tensile forces are measured, depending on the selected measuring method.
- Hardness tester
The hardness tester is used to measure the hardness of various materials. The KB 250 hardness tester can measure hardness using three static methods: Vickers, Brinell, and Rockwell. The measurement is based on a point pressure on the tested object by pressing a special harder element into it, called an indenter. The machine has a built-in camera and is connected to a computer, thanks to which the measurement results are presented in a legible and user-friendly way.
- Manual machine for contact measurement of rollers
The MarShaft MAN runout measuring instrument is a modular measuring instrument for the quick, flexible and comprehensive measurement of cylindrical parts.
- Coordinates machine
CMM coordinate measuring machine - is a type of measuring machine that enables spatial measurements of complex elements. It is equipped with three measuring systems for measuring in three XYZ coordinate axes and a probe for locating the surface of the element. Most often, thanks to drives and a computer with special software, it enables measurements in an automatic mode called CNC (Computerized Numerical Control). Measurements with a coordinate machine are characterized by very high accuracy and objectivity. One of the advantages of this measuring technique is the measurement of various objects with complex shapes that cannot be measured with basic workshop instruments (calipers, sensors, microscopes, length gauges).
- Vicat's apparatus
The Vicat / HDT apparatus is used to determine the softening point (Vicat) and the deflection temperature under load (HDT). The Vicat test consists in loading the sample with a defined weight and heating it at the speed specified in the standard. 1 mm of the weight of the weight needle determines the softening point. The HDT test involves placing the sample in an oil bath. The sample is loaded and heated. The achievement of the deflection specified in the standard determines the deflection temperature.
- Scales for measuring the density
A balance with density measurement allows you to determine the density of a tested object - a solid - on the basis of its weight in the air and its weight after immersion in a liquid whose density is known.
- Measuring Microscope
The MM420CNC measuring microscope allows for precise measurements of the tested element thanks to the optical, incremental measuring system. The microscope is connected to a computer, which facilitates operation and taking measurements.
- Altimeter
The motorized altimeter is an advanced version of the caliper altimeter that allows you to perform measurements such as top contact, bottom contact, bore / shaft center and diameter measurement.
and that's not all, we are awaiting the delivery of more equipment.
- Research Chamber
In connection with the implementation of the project, a test chamber was created, equipped with a belt drive system, a system for changing temperature and humidity, and recording the measured parameters, which enables tests and tests of rollers to be carried out in conditions similar to those in the engine compartment. The device allows you to create and maintain a set "climate" (temperature and humidity) for any time, as well as its monitoring and recording. Together with the belt drive, this makes it possible to simulate a road test by setting a specific roller speed at a given time.
