Coordinate measuring machine – WENZEL Präzision GmbH

Coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is a type of measuring machine enabling spatial measurements of complex elements. It is equipped with three measurement systems for measuring in three XYZ coordinate axes and a probe for locating the position of the element’s surface. Most often, thanks to drives and a computer with special software, it enables measurements in an automatic mode called CNC (Computerized Numerical Control). Measurements made by a coordinate measuring machine are characterized by very high accuracy and objectivity. One of the advantages of this measurement technique is the ability to measure various objects with complex shapes that cannot be measured using basic workshop instruments (calipers, sensors, microscopes, length gauges).

Device for contact measurement of cylinders

The MarShaft MAN 400 runout measuring instrument is a measuring instrument with a modular design for fast, flexible and comprehensive measurement of cylindrical parts.

Testing machine

The testing machine of the German company Hegewald & Peschke with a force of five tons is a device used to test the compressive and tensile strength of materials. The material sample is subjected to stresses that cause it to deform or break. The values of compressive and tensile forces are measured, depending on the selected measurement method.

Measuring arm

The Hexagon 7-axis measuring arm is a portable equivalent of CMM machines. Using a contact probe and a laser scanner, the measuring arm allows to perform coordinate measurements and inspect the measured elements. The laser scanner allows to create a digital representation of the measured element in order to compare it with the 3D solid designed by the designer.

Hardness tester

A hardness tester is used to measure the hardness of various materials. The KB 250 hardness tester can measure hardness using three static methods: Vickers, Brinell, Rockwell. The measurement consists of point pressure on the tested object by pressing a special, harder element into it, called an indenter. The machine has a built-in camera and is connected to a computer, thanks to which the measurement results are presented in a clear and user-friendly way.

Measuring microscope

The MarVision MM420CNC measuring microscope allows you to perform accurate measurements of the tested element thanks to the optical, incremental measurement system. The microscope is connected to a computer, which makes it easier to operate and perform measurements.

Research Chamber

In connection with the implementation of the project, a research chamber was created and equipped with a belt drive system, a system for changing temperature and humidity and recording measured parameters, which enables tests and examinations of the pulleys to be carried out in conditions similar to those in the engine compartment. The device allows you to create and maintain a set “climate” (temperature and humidity) for any time, as well as to monitor and to record it. Together with the belt drive, this makes it possible to simulate a road test by setting a specific rotate speed at a given time.

Vicat/HDT device

The Vicat/HDT apparatus is used to determine the softening temperature (Vicat) and to determine the load deflection temperature (HDT). The Vicat test involves loading the sample with a defined weight and heating it at a speed specified in the standard. The sinker needle’s depth of 1 mm determines the softening temperature. The HDT test involves placing a sample in an oil bath. The sample is loaded and heated. Reaching the deflection specified in the standard determines the deflection temperature.

Altimeter

The Digimar 817 CLM height gauge with a motor drive is an advanced version of the caliper height gauge, allowing to perform measurements such as: contact from the top, contact from the bottom, measurement of the center and diameter of the hole/shaft.

Chassis dynamometer

An extremely useful diagnostic device that is included in Caffaro’s equipment. It allows for accurate testing and assessment of car parameters in terms of power and torque.
Purpose and functions of the dyno:
  • Diagnostics: The dynamometer allows to check cars with one or both axles drive on. The power and torque curve graph provides information on many faults such as turbocharger, flow meter, injection system, fuel pump, variable valve timing system or EGR

  • Tuning: Dyno tuning allows precise setting of ignition, fuel and boost maps across the entire RPM and load range. It is necessary for advanced modifications
